What this project promises
- No advertising, no sponsors, no listing fees. Neither being listed nor the position shown can be bought.
- No financial relationship with the organizations assessed. We receive no money, benefit or compensation from any organization on this site.
- The operator does not rewrite individual results. Assessments are generated by AI against published criteria; the operator only reviews them before publication.
- When we do not know, we say so. 15 organizations are published as "on hold" and 34 as "certainty: low".
- We do not erase corrections. What we fixed, and what we withdrew, stays in the change log.
- If these promises change, we write it down before they change. Any change is recorded in the change log.
Who runs this
An individual based in Japan. This is not the work of a company or an organization. The operator has a separate day job and runs this site on personal time and at personal expense.
The operator's name is not published. There are two reasons.
The first is that the trustworthiness of an assessment should rest on the criteria and the sources, not on who wrote it. If the weight of a conclusion changed with the author's name, that would mean the criteria were weak. So the full criteria are published, every page carries its sources, its assessment quarter and its last-checked date, and anyone can reproduce the same procedure.
The second is that, because this site assesses named organizations, an individual cannot personally field direct approaches from the organizations assessed. Corrections and rebuttals are therefore received through a single channel that leaves a record.
Anonymity here means that the operator's name is not published. Statutory requests - disclosure of sender information, requests concerning personal data - are answered within the limits of the law. Operating with complete legal anonymity is not possible, and we do not claim it.
Money
This site has no revenue. It receives none of the following:
- advertising income
- sponsorship or donations from sponsors
- payment for being listed, or for position in any listing
- affiliate commission - including links to organizations' own sites and careers pages, for which no referral fee is received
- money, benefits, goods or paid travel from any organization assessed
The domain and hosting costs are paid by the operator.
If costs or revenue arise in future in any form, it will be written here and in the change log before that happens, together with the scope of any conflict of interest it could create.
What the AI does, and what a person does
The text of each assessment is generated by AI (Claude) against published criteria. Before publication, the operator checks by hand:
- that each source exists and supports what is written
- that confirmed negative effects have not been confused with allegations, ongoing disputes or the volume of reporting
- that no invented or embellished anecdote has crept in
- that the wording is not overstated and does not assert intent
Where that review finds a problem, the page is not published, or it returns to "on hold". The operator does not rewrite the conclusion for an individual organization. Changes to the criteria themselves are recorded in the change log.
How to check this for yourself
You do not have to take the operator on trust. It is set up to be checked.
- The criteria are shown permanently on the home page, so you can read what produces each position before you read any assessment.
- A shareable prompt is published. You can give the same criteria to any AI and assess an organization that is not listed, or test one that is.
- Sources are attached item by item: 1,127 of 1,192 detail rows (95%) carry a source URL.
- The assessment quarter and last-checked date appear on every page, so you can see how current it is.
- The change log records every addition, correction and removal in both languages (63 entries since 2026-06-28).
- Past snapshots are kept rather than overwritten, so you can follow how a position changed.
What happens when we get it wrong
AI-generated assessments can contain errors and out-of-date information. They are fixed as they are found.
So far, 9 corrections and 3 withdrawals concerning organizations have been recorded. Three organizations were withdrawn, for example, when the official URLs on file began redirecting to unrelated businesses. At the quarterly review, all 140 organizations that had come due were re-checked against public sources.
To ask for a correction or to reply:
- Use the contact form, option "A submission about a published assessment (correction, rebuttal, removal)", with the URL of the page and the type of submission.
- We check it. Where a factual error is confirmed, it is corrected. Where it is a difference of interpretation, it may be reflected in the "watching" or "a second look" sections.
- What was done is recorded in the change log. A correction once made is not quietly removed.
- If you give an email address, we reply with the outcome.
Nothing you send is published.
